Senior Engineering Manager, Creator Team

About the Opportunity:

The organization provides collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military staffs, designed to enhance operational planning by making teams faster, smarter, and more efficient. This fully remote team includes veterans, global professionals, and technologists from leading software companies. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead the Creator team, responsible for developing core systems for managing geospatial and temporal data, enabling military teams to plan and visualize complex operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and expand a team of full-stack engineers building core planning artifacts such as Maps, Timelines, Cards, Card Lists, and Data Tables.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to solve user problems with reliable and performant solutions.

• Develop and coach engineers to uphold high standards of technical excellence, autonomy, and accountability.

• Define processes and ownership structures to enable the Creator team to split into two efficient teams.

• Shape technical direction and partner with architecture leads to modernize critical planning systems.

Requirements:

• 4+ years managing engineering teams delivering complex web applications.

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including React and in production.

• Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguous, high-impact projects with clear direction.

• Strong collaboration skills with Product, Design, and QA.

• Experience managing the full talent lifecycle (hiring, growth, performance management, promotions, off-boarding).

• Skilled at setting expectations, aligning priorities, and maintaining sustainable velocity.

• Solid understanding of modern web technologies, system design, and API-driven architecture.

• Experience with data-rich, interactive applications or real-time collaboration tools.

• Familiarity with scaling performance and reliability for complex front-end systems.

• U.S. Citizenship required (clearance eligible), with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance (not required on day one).

• Preferred: Experience in military, defense, or other high-trust domains; experience with geospatial visualization or large-scale data visualization tools; experience leading technical modernization efforts.
