Supervising Pharmacist

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy team and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations within a healthcare setting. This role offers an opportunity to oversee pharmacy services, manage medication therapy, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Duties

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, providing guidance and support to maintain high-quality service.
• Review and interpret patient assessments to develop appropriate medication management plans, including pain management, immunizations, and IV infusions.
• Ensure accurate compounding of medications, aseptic techniques, and proper inventory management of pharmaceuticals. processing, documentation, and patient record maintenance.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and review prescriptions for appropriateness based on physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and clinical guidelines.
• Lead initiatives in immunizations administration and patient education on medication use and safety.
• Maintain compliance with all legal requirements related to pharmacy practice and ensure staff adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Micro Merchant Experience
• Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in pharmacy, critical care, or acute care environments.
• Completion of a pharmacy residency program is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with patient service focus including patient assessment and medication therapy management.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, immunizations, aseptic technique, and pain management protocols.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software systems Micro Merchant and Prime Rx.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security.
• Prior experience working with pharmacy technicians is advantageous. This role is integral to delivering safe, effective pharmaceutical care while leading a dedicated team committed to excellence in patient health outcomes.

Pay: $ $83.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 – 40.0 per week
