Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Metairie, LA. As a Pharmacist at East Jefferson General Hospital, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring optimal use and proper dosage for patients. You will counsel healthcare providers and patients on the safe use of medications, monitor drug therapies for effectiveness and safety, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and protocols. You will also collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care, contribute to policy development, and oversee inventory management to maintain efficient pharmaceutical operations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of pharmacological principles, medication therapies, and evidence-based practices
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage pharmaceutical inventory
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to stay updated with regulatory guidelines and ensure compliance with medication safety standards
- Pharmacist licensure in the state of Louisiana is required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution preferred
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is a plus
