Job Summary:

Part-Time Infant Aide or Assistant Teacher

Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 6 PM with option for additional hours when available

Open Arms Christian Early Childhood Center seeks to retain a qualified and experienced infant aide or assistant teacher to join our team of dedicated education and care providers. Infant aides and assistant teachers will nurture the youngest learners through activities and experiences founded in play-based learning and loving personalized care in a warm, Christian environment. Infant aides and assistant teachers will work collaboratively with other infant teachers to help promote the growth and learning of infants in all senses; physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Open Arms prides itself in developing teachers as well and all teachers, regardless of age worked with, are provided with on-going professional development and opportunities to progress and grow as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and follow personalized care routines for infants within the program to support their growth and development.
  • Interact with infants in gentle and engaging ways to meet their needs and stimulate their senses.
  • Partner with fellow infant teachers to create and lead activities for infants as well as follow all care routines.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a network of supportive care for individual children.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that allows for care and learning routines to be carried out.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education trends and practices.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred. Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with infants in daycare or educational settings is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for educating young children is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues are required.
  • A genuine love for teaching and nurturing young minds is essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
