Department Overview

McDonald's, one of the most recognized brands in the world, is seeking a Manager – Cybersecurity Governance & Compliance to support our cybersecurity team as we protect McDonald's. You will collaborate closely with cybersecurity experts, market leads throughout the world, project managers, and Global Technology Solutions teams to drive the development, deployment, and maintenance of our global policies and standards and will govern global compliance to those standards. In addition, this role will be responsible for regulatory compliance (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley), third-party risk as it related to regulatory compliance, governance, and compliance. It will work closely with our partners in infrastructure & operations to govern foundational programs such as asset management and business continuity.

This position will work with the Global Technology teams to improve the regulatory and controls environment though education, identification and implementation of control improvements.   This includes recommending control design and operating effectiveness improvements.   The position will include working with internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities

Global Cyber Security (GCS) is the team that is ultimately responsible for the securing of McDonald's information assets at a global level. This role will directly manage the group within GCS that is responsible for our cybersecurity governance & compliance program and critical services, ensuring our leadership makes informed risk-based decisions. This individual will also be responsible for global information governance efforts, including but not limited to GDPR.

The Manager of Cybersecurity Governance & Compliance work in a team of global professionals and partners globally to for the day-to-day tactical functioning of the processes and people dedicated to the organization. This position will work closely with the Segment leads and other partners to ensure that at all times, the daily activities upon which McDonald's depends to reduce risk to the environment are functioning as designed and providing the desired benefit.

Qualifications
  • Manage and improve the global McDonald's Governance and Compliance program continuously improving it to ensure it is world-class.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost and risk-reducing opportunities for IT Governance and Compliance.
  • Assist control owners on the development of their controls and guiding them on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their controls
  • Facilitate access reviews and provide feedback on completed reviews
  • Provide feedback to control owners on newly developed controls
  • Work with external, internal audit, Global Technology, and Finance to improve the control environment
  • Perform functions promptly and with an acute level of attention to detail, urgency, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to analyze the most complex risk issues, determine their cause and impact on the business, and identify the corrective action needed to eliminate and prevent the events in the future
  • Manage to our policies and standards with the definition of KPI's associated with compliance.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of a strategic program applying industry-leading practices and methodologies to support the achievement of short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Maintain appropriate policies, SOPs, training, and guidelines for managing all information required for the program.
  • Manage and mature global cybersecurity compliance through a well-defined metrics program.
  • Work closely with the markets, information management program vendors, and consultants to improve programs.
  • Support business units and capabilities (e.g., IT, Law Department, HR, Finance) day-to-day business needs and special projects.
  • Operate and manage our third-party governance and compliance program according to McDonald's policies and standards.
  • Supporting the annual departmental budget and capital requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience with IT Security governance, compliance, or IT audit.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in internal or external auditing, accounting, or compliance.
  • Experience as an external or internal auditor
