Looking for a Certified Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner for our robust dermatology practice in Hannibal, MO to evaluate and treat patients in an office setting. Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and highly focused on patient care with a passion for dermatology. Previous dermatology experience is preferred but not required. Must reside locally or be willing to relocate to the Hannibal area.
Your Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited APRN or PA program
- Passed Missouri State Boards
- Possess a valid Missouri state license to practice
- Ability to pass a background check
- Positive attitude while working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to operate as a team player
- Good listening skills and attention to detail
- Ability to make patients feel comfortable, welcome, and heard
Your Role:
- Assist physician as needed and see patients under a physician's supervision
- Practice general dermatology such as perform skin examinations, diagnose and treat common skin conditions
- Review record of patient's health history in electronic medical record system
- Examine and assess patients to determine suitable course of treatment while making patient feel comfortable, welcome and heard
- Perform appropriate biopsies as needed to detect skin conditions and skin cancer
- Counsel patients on treatment options and long term care of their skin
- Prescribe suitable and appropriate medications to patients as necessary including biologics
- Recommend diagnostic testing or refer patients to other specialists as needed
- Utilize electronic medical record system (EMA experience is a preferred but not necessary)
- Direct and coordinate activities of assigned medical staff
- Consult with and take direction from collaborating physician regarding medical care of patients
- Order laboratory, x-ray, and/or other non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures. Initiates referrals to the appropriate physician.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of patient-related information is in the medical chart, including discharge summaries and instructions.
- Abide by OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant medical office regulations
- Maintain license through ongoing Continuing Medical Education credits as required
- Float to additional location in Taylor, MO as needed
Schedule & Benefits:
- Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm
