Compensation and Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours a week.
  • Shifts are between 10pm-6am. Rotating holiday & weekend availability is required.
  • Competitive hourly wage of $17.10 with a $1.50 shift differential for weekend shifts

Responsibilities:
As an Adult Mentor, you get to facilitate your adult clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live with independence and dignity in the community. With up to four roommates living in a home under a true roommate arrangement, the feeling is family-like, rather than institutional. And, since you work with the same limited number of clients regularly, you get to know them very well. You feel great about facilitating a full life for these individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that you have the privilege to work with
You do more than just assist with medications, meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support your clients in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies. You help them stay healthy in all areas by making sure that they are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging their independence as much as possible.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Ability to work between 2pm-10 pm, ability to work rotating weekends

  • Negative TB skin test (provided by Aptiv)

  • Ability to pass a background test

  • A valid driver's license and good driving record

  • Reliable transportation with valid registration and up-to-date auto insurance

  • Any previous experience is a plus but not required. We will train the right person for this entry-level position Extensive training is provided to respond to both behavioral and medical challenges that can occur.
