The Agency for Community Transit, ACT, is looking for an Groundskeeper to perform routine maintenance and repair of grounds, bikeways, and landscaped areas. For consideration, you must apply at

Job Duties

• Keeps Supervisors up to date on the status of all work projects.
• Performs major and minor landscaping for all ACT/MCT owned property including routine maintenance and care of grounds.
• Performs maintenance on MCT trails (e.g., sweeping, pavement repair, tree trimming, post-storm clean up) as needed.Provides services necessary to keep equipment operative (e.g., small dump trucks, and arborist equipment such as chainsaws).
• Stays current on latest practices as applicable to the Agency's needs including proper safety practices.
• Performs all duties in compliance with appropriate safety and security standards.
• Attend work regularly.

Requirements

• Willingness to learn all responsibilities associated with an entry level position.
• Willingness to obtain knowledge of existing MCT Trails, properties, and Grounds department responsibilities.
• Possess or willing to obtain Pesticide operator's license and a Commercial Driver's License.
• Trained in small equipment operations of all types to include weed eaters, hand tools, etc.
• Trained to safely operate zero-turn and other finish style mowers.
• Possess knowledge of proper safety precautions and use of safety equipment.
• Knowledge of basic landscaping/grounds keeping tasks and duties.
• Clean and neat appearance.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Normal working conditions for this position involve exposure to all types of weather and elements.
• The physical requirements of the position include moderate physical activity requiring a full range of motion in all extremities.
• Manual dexterity to safely use hand and garden tools including shovels, shears, brooms, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, drills, etc.
• Must have ability to lift, carry, and/or drag objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

This is a full-time position working day shift Monday through Friday, including overtime as required. ACT provides a competitive salary and benefit package, including retirement plan.
