In this position the driver will deliver Premium Dietz & Watson products following a specific route. The Driver serves an essential role by leaving a positive, lasting impression, and delivering product with the highest quality of standards. The Dietz & Watson Delivery Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service by delivering orders accurately and on time, supporting our legacy of doing things the right way since 1939.

Accountabilities/Duties:

  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule in a safe, timely manner with a friendly attitude.
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Keep vehicle organized, clean and tidy.
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines and D & W policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.
  • Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record.
  • Operate with a strong sense of urgency and adhere to D & W Brand standards.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follows all DOT regulations (including Hours of Service) and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards.
  • Inspect truck for properly loaded and secured freight.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exhibits high energy and strong interpersonal skills
  • Is diligent, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Has the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Skilled and confident driver.
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a vehicle.
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented with an innate sense of direction.
  • Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.

Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid CDL B or CDL A driver's license required.
  • Previous delivery driver experience preferred
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass road test
  • Pass post offer drug test, DOT Medical Cert, and criminal background check
  • Kutztown, Pennsylvania, United States
