Description
As a
Site Safety Manager
at Frontier-Kemper, you will be responsible for overseeing all onsite safety documentation and services required to support and monitor the construction of underground structures, including shafts, tunnels, slopes, and other related work as assigned. The Site Safety Manager will collaborate closely with the Corporate Safety and Mining Departments, as needed, to ensure compliance and best practices.
Essential Functions
- Safety Audits – Ensure construction activities comply with project safety specifications and company safety standards; assist with risk management efforts and monitor environmentally sensitive areas.
- Site Safety Management & Control – Prepare, maintain, and distribute all required safety documentation and records, including cost, schedule, and production-related safety reports.
- Field Safety Reporting – Accurately complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Safety Compliance & Promotion – Promote and enforce company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment, while ensuring compliance with all applicable MSHA federal and state regulations.
Requirements
- ASP or CSP certification preferred
- 4 + years of construction site safety experience required
- Strong familiarity with safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, management, and field personnel
- Ability to work outdoors and underground in challenging environments, including exposure to heights
