Pest Control Specialist

Job Description:
Perform exclusion, exclusion-related repairs, and preventative measures to keep rodents and pigeons out of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Inspect sites, identify entry points and attractants, implement exclusion solutions, perform minor repairs, document work, and educate customers on prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections to identify rodent and pigeon entry points, nesting sites, and attractants.
• Develop and implement exclusion plans using industry best practices (sealing gaps, installing door sweeps, wire mesh, netting, spike systems, chimney caps, vent covers, etc.).
• Install and repair physical exclusion materials (metal flashing, hardware cloth, silicone/urethane sealants, caulking, sheet metal, wood blocking).
• Safely remove or relocate pigeon nesting material and clean contaminated areas following safety protocols.
• Set and monitor rodent bait stations and traps when required, following label instructions and company policy.
• Perform drywall/roofline/soffit/attic repairs as needed to complete exclusions or coordinate with contractors for larger repairs.
• Maintain accurate service reports, diagrams, photos, and materials inventory for each job.
• Provide clear customer communication: explain findings, recommended work, costs, timelines, and prevention strategies.
• Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, and adhere to local regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies regarding wildlife, pesticides, and waste disposal.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and stock of materials in service-ready condition.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years experience in pest control, wildlife exclusion, building maintenance, roofing, carpentry, or related trade preferred.
• Knowledge of rodent biology and pigeon behavior and common exclusion techniques.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to climb ladders, access attics, crawl spaces, roofs, and work at heights safely.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and performing physical labor.

Skills:

• Basic carpentry and light construction skills (cutting, fastening, sealing).
• Problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication for customer interaction and reporting.
• Time management and ability to prioritize multiple service calls.
• Familiarity with safety equipment and PPE use.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, kneeling, climbing.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to wear PPE (respirators, gloves, eye protection).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35, $45,000.00 per year
