Medical Assistant

Join a growing ophthalmology office on the north side of Pflugerville. We are seeking a conscientious, reliable person to add to our team. A Spanish speaking candidate is HIGHLY desirable. This position is part time ~20-25 hours with the following schedule:

Alternating Mondays 7:45am-5pm

Tuesdays and Fridays 7:45am-5pm

We run one satellite clinic the first Wednesday afternoon of each month we would expect this candidate to support as well.

Responsibilities include:

1. Working up patients prior to being seen by the doctor (history taking, vision, pressure, use of electronic medical record)

2. Candidate would travel 45 minutes to a satellite office for a half day once monthly. You will be reimbursed for travel to satellite offices.

3. Occasional front desk/reception duties as needed including insurance verification, appointments, and patient correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology
• Experience in a medical office setting
• Proficient in anatomy and physiology
• Ability to provide excellent patient care and maintain HIPAA compliance
• Familiarity with EMR systems, including Athenahealth
• Experience with Goldmann Tonometry, refraction, slit lamp examination HIGHLY desired
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
