Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care while maintaining efficient office operations. The Medical Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals. Dependable when it comes to attendance. Reliable and consistent attendance is an essential requirement of this position. Candidates must be willing to work as needed between our 3 clinics.

Duties

  • Triaging patients, documenting and updating vital signs, medical history, medication history and demographics.
  • Triaging patients over the phone for telemedicine appointments
  • Administering subcutaneous injections
  • Administering medications through intramuscular injections
  • Administering percutaneous skin tests
  • Administering spirometry testing
  • Administering FeNO testing
  • Administering nebulizing breathing treatments
  • Assisting during medical examinations
  • Arranging laboratory services and referrals
  • Conducting medication/food challenges
  • Conducting COVID, FLU and Strep testing
  • Submitting prior authorizations for medications
  • Rx prescription requests sent through Fax and eFax
  • Setting up delivery for patient Biologic injections
  • Preparing and cleaning treatment rooms and medical instruments

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology to assist in effective communication within the healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Detail oriented
  • Efficiency and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
  • Empathic skills
