As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by assisting with meal preparation and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and mixers safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with chefs to execute catering orders and special events.
• Support the cooking team during service by ensuring that all necessary items are prepped and ready for use.
• Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
• Assist with inventory management, including tracking food supplies and reporting shortages.

Experience

• Previous experience in food preparation or as a cook in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling techniques and safety practices is essential.
• Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience as a dietary aide or in the food industry is a plus but not mandatory.
