Right now, Northern Panhandle Head Start has an exciting career opportunity available for caring individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of children and their family members. We have a Bus Driver position available in the Brooke county area. As a Bus Driver, you will be providing transportation for preschool aged children to ensure that they are able to attend school on a regular basis.

To be a Bus Driver , you must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. You must also hold a CDL class B or higher with passenger and school bus endorsements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a CDL class B or higher with passenger and school bus endorsements, with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to meet WV Transportation regulations/standards requirements and be willing to enter the State Driver's Certification program
  • Must be able to drive a school bus daily

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely transport children to assigned activities, according to all state, federal, and program regulations; enforce all transportation rules and regulations with passengers in accordance with written transportation plans and applicable laws.
  • Verify, using photo ID, the identity of persons removing children from the vehicle to ensure that they are designated by the parent/guardian.
  • Conduct bus safety activities with children once a month; provide bus aide supervision and training to promote safety.
  • Maintain bus on approved preventative maintenance schedule; ensure the cleanliness of the bus at all times according to WV Transportation regulations.
  • Complete all daily, monthly, and other required transportation reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Deliver supplies to sites; move equipment; clean, cut grass, shovel snow, and complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor at sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.61 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
