Auto Body Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our reputable automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in auto body repair, auto painting, and welding, with a strong focus on restoring vehicles to their original condition. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where craftsmanship and customer satisfaction are paramount. Experience in dealership settings, auto restoration, and auto estimating is highly valued. The technician will be responsible for performing repairs using various tools and techniques, ensuring high-quality results that meet industry standards.

Duties

• Repair and restore vehicle bodies using hand tools, power tools, MIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication techniques
• Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment
• Apply auto paint using airless paint spraying equipment and ensure a flawless finish through detailing and polishing
• Replace or repair auto glass and perform welding tasks such as soldering and heavy-duty welding as needed
• Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks related to bodywork, including sanding, priming, and finishing surfaces
• Assist with auto restoration projects by fabricating parts and restoring vintage or damaged vehicles
• Use auto estimating skills to assess damage and prepare repair plans for customer approval
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair process

Requirements

• Proven experience in auto body repair, with dealership experience preferred
• Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, and sheet metal work
• Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance procedures
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, auto painting equipment, and auto glass installation tools
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs
• Strong understanding of auto painting techniques including airless paint spraying
• Experience with auto estimating software is a plus
• Knowledge of automotive repair standards and safety regulations
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
• Good communication skills for customer interactions and teamwork
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
