We are looking for an HVAC Service Apprentice to join our team This role is built for someone who wants to learn the service side of HVAC—diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and customer-facing repair work. You will work alongside experienced service technicians and develop the skills needed to become a long-term service professional.

In addition, please read the following carefully before applying:

  • Candidate MUST pass a thorough and comprehensive criminal background check. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Candidate MUST be able to produce original identification documents (e.g., Driver's License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, etc.). NO COPIES and NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Candidate MUST have their own reliable transportation. Borrowing vehicles, Uber, ridesharing, or the need to be "dropped off" is not considered reliable transportation. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Candidate MUST be available Monday–Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. We must be able to depend on you, day in and day out. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Service Career Progression Path

This position is intended for individuals who want to build a career in HVAC service. Apprentices who show reliability, curiosity, and diagnostic ability will be trained and evaluated for advancement into higher service roles. Progression is based on demonstrated skill, accountability, and readiness.

Service Career Ladder:

  • Service Apprentice – Learn service fundamentals, system operation, diagnostics, and safety
  • Junior Service Technician – Perform routine service calls and maintenance with limited supervision
  • Service Technician – Independently diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems
  • Senior Service Technician – Handle complex diagnostics, mentor apprentices, and lead advanced service work

What We Expect From the Right Candidate

We are looking for someone who moves with a sense of urgency, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and understands how to interact professionally with customers and the public. You must present yourself well at all times, work effectively as part of a team, and stay focused on the task at hand. This role requires the ability to limit outside distractions and maintain attention on safety, quality, and customer experience throughout the workday.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

Within 90 days, successful apprentices understand how systems operate, can assist with diagnostics and maintenance, follow service procedures, and communicate clearly with lead technicians. You show strong attention to detail, take ownership of your work, and are progressing toward handling basic service tasks independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead service technicians with diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system performance checks
  • Help troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and airflow-related issues
  • Assist with part replacement, system adjustments, and minor repairs
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with refrigerant line work and system components
  • Assist with condensate drainage and exhaust venting related to service work

Qualifications:

  • EPA Certification preferred
  • Must have your own basic hand tools
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams and system components
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic thinking skills
  • Desire to grow into a service technician role

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40–50 per week
