Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated EFDA Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting general and pediatric dentistry procedures, proficiency with dental software systems, and a strong understanding of infection control and aseptic techniques. This role involves providing chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth clinical operations to deliver exceptional patient care. Duties
- Assist dentist during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained
- Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines
- Manage electronic medical records using Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information
- Take vital signs and medical history of patients prior to procedures
- Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and sanitation of instruments and work areas
- Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and supporting the dental receptionist duties when needed
- Support four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency during clinical procedures
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental terminology as appropriate
Qualifications
- Valid EFDA certification
- Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
