But we all share one goal: to improve the world responsibly and safely./ppKBR has an immediate need for an energetic and dynamic Enterprise Infrastructure Systems Administrator in support of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation Science (EROS) Center near Sioux Falls, SD./ppThe EROS Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) is seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure Systems Administrator to join a diverse and highly skilled team. This role leads technical operations across both Windows and Unix/Linux environments (with a primary focus on Linux). The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and deep technical expertise in managing on-premises, virtual, and cloud-based systems./ppYou will be responsible for the full lifecycle of IT systems and servicesincluding deployment, configuration, maintenance, and decommissioning. This position emphasizes security, automation, and continuous improvement, while also fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team./ppThree years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential./ppEducation: Minimum of an AA in Computer Science; BS/BA preferred./ppExperience: Minimum of six years of directly related technical, professional experience required./ppEssential Job Functions:/pulliLead and support the administration of Linux (RHEL, OEL, Rocky) and Windows environments./liliConfigure, maintain, and monitor physical and virtual servers, containers, and specialized software./liliPerform system maintenance, patching, and vulnerability remediation to ensure a secure and stable environment./liliTroubleshoot and resolve system issues using diagnostic tools and root cause analysis./liliManage user access controls and system security settings./liliDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and system configurations./liliServe as a technical lead on IT projects, from design through implementation and post-deployment support./liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated IT solutions./liliMentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing./li/ulpRequired Skills:/pulliAssociate degree in Computer Science or related field (Bachelors preferred)./liliMinimum of 6 years of directly related technical experience./liliStrong working knowledge of Linux (RHEL, OEL, Rocky) and Windows operating systems./liliExperience with server, application, and container provisioning and automation./liliProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and data formats (e.g., JSON, YAML)./liliFamiliarity with IaC/CaC tools (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform)./liliExperience with virtualization and container platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, NetApp, Kubernetes, Docker)./liliSolid understanding of security practices, incident/problem management, and monitoring tools./liliExcellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and communication skills./li/ulpOther Desired Skills:/pulliCertifications such as RHCSA, VCP, AWS, Azure, or ITIL v3/v4 Foundation./liliExperience with tools like Jira (Agile/Scrum), BMC Remedy, SolarWinds, Splunk, Nlyte DCIM./liliAwareness or experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)./liliFamiliarity with code debugging tools and techniques./li/ulpSpecial Requirements:/pulliThree years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential./liliThe candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hiring to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account./li/ulpExperience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements./ppKBR partners with several other companies to fulfill its requirements as a government contractor.
