Knots mission is to empower consumers and businesses alike with connected merchant and banking experiences. Knot is like Plaid for merchant connectivity. We are building the platform connecting merchants to the many applications that consumers and businesses interact with every day. Our flagship CardSwitcher product allows consumers to instantly update & manage their cards on file with online merchant accounts (e.g. Netflix or PayPal), while newer products like TransactionLink support the retrieval of item-level transaction data. Founded in 2021 by brothers Rory and Kieran OReilly and Thiel Fellows, Knot powers connected online payment experiences for hundreds of thousands of consumers. Companies such as American Express, PayPal, Current, BILT, Step, and more embed Knots SDK in their apps. Were a world?class team largely in engineering roles, looking to solidify our presence in NYC to be at the heart of the financial services ecosystem. Our work is focused on building for customers and every member of the financial services ecosystem. We take our work seriously and have fun while doing it both are equally important. What Youll Do Work alongside a team to build, experiment with, and debug user?facing features across all of Knots products (CardSwitcher, TransactionLink, etc.) Build brand new products alongside existing features to drive further value for end users. Develop user interfaces with React/TypeScript on the frontend and a variety of technologies at the API layer. Foster a culture of deep care for industry?leading user experience.
What Youll Need To Get The Job Done
5+ years of full?stack engineering experience. Proficiency in React, Node, TypeScript, Go, Python, and CloudSQL (or similar relational database). Track record of shipping high?quality products at scale. Strong knack for getting the visuals right. Understanding of observability and a passion for digging into details to solve performance and user?experience issues. Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing organization and to lead solutions proactively. Eagerness to work in a fast?paced, dynamic environment and constantly grow & develop craft. Expert communication and collaboration skills with product teams. Experience with fintech or consumer apps is a plus.
Tech
React frontend with Styled Components, Material?UI, and CSS modules for styling. React?query/Axios for API calls. TypeScript/Node, Python, Go, and Socket.io in the backend. CloudSQL & Redis. Hosted on Google Cloud Run & Kubernetes. Tools: GitHub, Linear, Slack, Notion.
