Join Our Team as a Pipefitter!

Location: Glasgow Govan and Scotstoun (On-site attendance required for recruitment day in Glasgow)

Salary: £38,662.00 (with a potential additional shift allowance of 33%)

Your Mission:

As a Pipefitter, you will be at the heart of our operations, fabricating and installing piping systems that are crucial to our projects in the defence sector. Your expertise will ensure that our installations meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Fabricating and installing pipework systems using a variety of materials, including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
  • Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes.
  • Installing essential utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
  • Assembling fittings, valves, and related components according to detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
Your Skills and Experiences:

Essential:

  • Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (to be provided with your application).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture and installation.
  • Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.

Desirable:

  • Marine Pipefitting experience.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
