Trials & Commissioning Engineer – Electrical

Salary: Up to £45,500, based on your skills and experience

Location: Scotstoun – On-site

As a vital member of our team, you will:

• Set to work on electrical marine systems and equipment across the entire ship platform, including Power and Propulsion, HVAC, Fixed Fire Fighting, LV Distribution, and more.
• Act as an Electrical Authorised Person , ensuring safe systems of work for ship electrical systems, including isolations and permits.
• Conduct audits and inspections of electrical ship systems for handover to Commissioning, collaborating with ship Operations and Design teams.
• Write technical documentation to support set to work and trials, including test forms, minor trials documentation, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers , clients, and acceptance bodies to demonstrate acceptance of ship systems.
• Utilize and analyze technical drawings and manuals to troubleshoot ship systems, working closely with design teams to resolve issues.
• Define the scope of handover for ship electrical systems and testing requirements to align with overall program needs.

Essential:

• Experience in Marine Engineering or similar industries.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems operation and design.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to coach and mentor in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Capability to obtain a Seafarers Medical Certificate .

Engineers at all levels should have an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, along with specific qualifications to become recognized as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a professional institution.

Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.
