What You'll Be DoingStep into an exciting opportunity with our newly formed Mechanical Engineering team in Coventry! Your mission? To deliver essential ship services, crew life support capabilities, and cutting-edge equipment for the current and next generation of Nuclear Submarines. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the design and development of critical systems for the SSN AUKUS.
- Lead and develop various mechanical engineering systems, equipment, and components.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure equipment and component specifications meet challenging demands.
- Collaborate directly with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios and design considerations.
- Take the lead in performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analyses to demonstrate system performance.
- Coordinate and manage a diverse stakeholder base to solve complex engineering problems and make informed decisions.
Essential:
- Background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in Rotating Machinery, Components, or Fluid Dynamics.
- Proven experience in applying mechanical engineering principles across various products and stages of the product lifecycle.
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- A passion for problem-solving and tackling complex engineering challenges.
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
Desirable:
- Experience in leadership or mentoring roles.

The Platform Systems TeamAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Platform Systems team, you'll be part of a brand-new initiative at our Coventry site. Collaborate with passionate engineers to innovate the design of our submarines. You'll also have the chance to mentor junior staff and enhance your technical skillset. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates across all Submarine roles.
