HVAC Technical Lead

Salary: Up to £52,000, depending on skills and experience + Overtime

As an HVAC Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic team. Here’s what you can expect:

• Technical Autonomy: Use your expertise to guide and advise fellow professionals within your project team.
• Prioritization: Manage team activities based on the programme delivery plan to ensure quality, schedule, and cost-effectiveness.
• Project Leadership: Act as the focal point for discipline-specific tasks, championing continuous improvement and compliance with best practices.
• Engineering Excellence: Utilize advanced engineering toolsets, including CAD, to deliver complex design activities from start to finish.
• Problem-Solving: Make informed decisions and facilitate solutions guided by policies and business plans.
• Escalation: Effectively escalate complex design issues and advise on technical resolutions impacting the delivery plan.
• Team Development: Identify capability gaps and development needs, contributing to training and development plans.
• Mentorship: Support skills coaching and mentoring, contributing to management reporting.

We’re looking for candidates who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience:

• Experience in large-scale engineering projects or technical roles.
• A broad understanding of processes, data, systems, and the business environment.
• HNC/HND qualified in a technology, engineering, or science-related discipline, with vocational training or equivalent experience.
• HVAC or Auxiliary Systems experience is preferred, along with considerable experience in an engineering or technical role.
• Shipbuilding experience is a plus!

The BAE Systems Design Services HVAC Team is a collaborative group of 15 engineers dedicated to developing and delivering HVAC design guidance, testing, commissioning, and fault finding for all current naval platforms based in Portsmouth Naval Base. As the HVAC Technical Lead, you will support a defined range of detail design activities, ensuring quality and service requirements are met while tackling varied challenges.
