Senior Manufacturing Engineer Manufacturing Technology (Millom)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Full-time, On-site)

Salary: Circa £45,000 (dependent on experience)

As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency in our submarine manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading Manufacturing Technology projects from inception to implementation, including research, proof of concepts, and pilot programs.
• Collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance the Submarines programme.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including inter-business teams and suppliers.
• Utilizing problem-solving techniques to advance technology solutions that improve manufacturing and construction processes.
• Creating and reviewing Manufacturing Technology documentation to support project lifecycles.
• Developing business justifications for new technologies and assessing their cost benefits.
• Supporting the creation of technology roadmaps.

Essential:

• Level 4 Qualification in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in welding and/or fabrication within heavy industry.
• Proven track record in process improvements.
• Ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL).

Desirable:

• Experience in developing business cases or justifications.
• Knowledge of the Catapult network.
• Experience in Research & Development activities.
