We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our New York City, New York operations. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles and a proactive approach to optimizing stock accuracy and efficiency within our logistics network. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, and driving improvements to reduce shrinkage and enhance stock accuracy. This position requires strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep commitment to upholding high standards of operational integrity and safety .
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Manage the reconciliation of inventory records with physical stock.
- Implement strategies to minimize inventory shrinkage, obsolescence, and damage.
- Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Oversee the proper storage and handling of inventory to ensure quality and accessibility.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company safety regulations and protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE .
- Generate reports on inventory levels, turns, and accuracy for management.
- May require occasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Commitment to a strong safety culture.
