We are seeking a reliable and industrious Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Chicago, Illinois. This role is integral to our logistics operations, involving the movement, sorting, and organization of goods. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are ready for processing and shipment, contributing to the overall efficiency of our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming inventory.
- Sort and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles and trailers.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Transport items to and from different areas of the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Follow all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is beneficial.
- Ability to consistently perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to adhere to all company protocols.
- Basic knowledge of logistics operations.
