Join our logistics team as a Receiving Clerk in Virginia Beach, Virginia! We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the inbound flow of goods into our warehouse. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately receive, inspect, and document all incoming shipments. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight using appropriate equipment.
- Inspect all shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items for proper storage.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring it is clean and hazard-free.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counting as needed.
- Handle returned goods processing as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, typically up to 40 lbs.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory control principles.
- Must be committed to workplace safety and consistently wear PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
