Seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in San Francisco, California. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all received goods. Your attention to detail is paramount to ensuring inventory accuracy and preventing loss. You will work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal departments to streamline the receiving process. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, the ability to handle paperwork efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized receiving area. We are looking for an individual who can contribute to the smooth flow of our logistics operations and uphold our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
- Document all received items, including quantities, product information, and condition.
- Tag and label received goods appropriately for inventory management.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal staff regarding delivery issues or discrepancies.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away into warehouse storage.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
