Position Summary: Line technician will be responsible for maintaining the condition of all equipment at Chiyoda. This also includes maintaining PM's as scheduled, performing adjustments on equipment as requested by QA, helping the engineering department maintain or build new lines, and assisting the engineering group with equipment setup/teaching as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform machine adjustments as needed per QA request.
  • Create and maintain Machine PM's
  • Conduct PM audits to include condition and documentation.
  • Help develop inventory items to be stocked in the central store.
  • Provide maintenance support for production and engineering activities to ensure optimum results.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to individuals; ability to present complex situations in a concise manner.
  • Investigate maintenance-related problems, analyze root causes and drive resolutions.
  • Assure compliance of proper safety, quality and environmental requirements in work.
  • Help the engineering department maintain or build new lines and assist the engineering group when needed.
  • Help with floor calls as needed.

Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Complete MaintainX workorders that are assigned to you.
  • Enter minutes/hours worked for each Workorder you are assigned too.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • Computer skills are a must with knowledge of, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic math skills – add, subtract, multiply, decimals.
  • Ability to read Electrical/Mechanical prints.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be able to be periodically "on-call" on designated weekends and holidays and available on-site during plant shutdowns / start-ups, plant commissioning and decommissioning activities, and other operational events, planned and unplanned, when required.
  • Must be able to regularly work around and atop industrial equipment, including frequent ascending and descending of stairs and ladders, move about the plant and office, bending, kneeling, crouch or squat, twist, stooping and remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms and paging.
  • Must be able to work around hazardous chemicals and exposure to dust.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to see, stand, walk, hear, talk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, the employee is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: The plant noise level is loud. Although the plant is climate controlled, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. PPE consisting of safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and earplugs where required must be always worn when entering and working out on the plant floor. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, dust, and moving equipment while working in the plant.
