About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics & Data Science professional to join our team in San Francisco, United States, with the flexibility of remote work. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to address a wide range of product and business challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your technical expertise in data analysis, experimentation, and storytelling to develop strategic insights that influence product development, business strategies, and decision-making processes. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Your work will involve formulating hypotheses, testing them through various analytical frameworks, and identifying opportunities to optimize products and business performance. By partnering with teams across the organization, you will help shape the future direction of Atlassian's offerings, ensuring they deliver value to users, businesses, and the company alike. The role offers an exciting opportunity to impact key metrics, forecast trends, and contribute to innovative solutions within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Science or related fields
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one additional data manipulation programming language (e.g., Python, R)
• Expertise in storytelling with data and familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, R-Shiny, Microstrategy, SAP Business Objects, Looker, etc.
• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts including regressions, A/B testing, clustering, and probability theory
• Proven experience driving impactful analytics projects that influence business strategy and performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive analysis
• Experience advising and presenting to senior executives, serving as a thought partner

Desirable Qualifications Include

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science or related fields
• Understanding of SaaS business models and key performance metrics
• Experience developing insights for Chat, Search, or LLM-based products

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex product and business problems through data analysis and experimentation
• Build credibility as a strategic partner by delivering clear and structured insights
• Develop hypotheses and test them using various analytical methodologies and frameworks
• Identify opportunities to improve products and business outcomes, influencing roadmap decisions
• Define, monitor, and analyze key product metrics to track trends and measure success
• Use data to inform product development, quantify new opportunities, and anticipate upcoming challenges
• Communicate insights effectively across the organization, including to executive leadership, through storytelling and visualization
• Forecast trends and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic initiatives
