Under the oversight of the Adult Education Director, the employee assists with coordinating and supporting quality learning and development of clear and viable Career Pathways for persons seeking employment. The Career Pathways Coordinator is responsible for the overall marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts for the Career Pathways program. Duties may include identification of Adult Education, WIOA, ESOL, and Pre-college students eligible for career pathways certificates, unemployed and underemployed workers outreach, community and business outreach, public information, and specific promotional events. The Career Pathways Coordinator will also work as a team with other Instructional staff in developing and implementing marketing and recruitment strategies and may be assigned specific responsibilities such as website updates and coordinating events specific to Career Pathways.POSTING DATE: DECEMBER 18, 2025SALARY: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E4 05 (range: $34,298 - $51,793). This is a grant-funded position. In the event that funds for this position are discontinued, the College shall have the right to discontinue the position. Neither tenure or non-probationary status may be attained in this position. ANTICIPATED START DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2026The position will be based initially at the Wallace Campus in Dothan.More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Assessment and Program Management. Assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and implement Adult Education Career Pathways efforts in accordance with project goals related to Workforce Development and Career Technical programs, faculty, and administration. Under the supervision of the Adult Education Director, develops a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Unified Plan by building cross-agency partnerships and clarify roles, identifying industry sectors and engaging employers, designing education and training programs, and identifying funding and resource needs.Assist in developing and implementing marketing, recruitment and retention strategies specific to Career Pathways.Establishes criteria for interested students to attend the Career Pathways program; Assist students in the steps needed to enter the Career Pathways program. Administers career assessments to students, reviews the results and provides counseling to students, and provides group and/or one-on-one interviews to assist potential students with making the best career decision.Identifies job market needs locally, regionally, and nationally for the local target population that includes, but is not limited to, adult education students, WIOA consumers, displaced workers, those previously incarcerated, single parents, underemployed, etc. Oversees classroom training provided for Career Pathways program and supports students by providing advisement and consultation for the best Career Pathway option. Provides assistance with updates or changes to instructors by keeping them informed of both local and state policies and procedures.Maintains student records and all documentation, compiles data, prepares and submits evaluative reports and statistical data to monitor and assess activities to Adult Education Director.Maintain safeguards regarding confidential and/or sensitive files and documents.Engage and support career pathways students through educational requirements, career exploration, training, job search and successful completion of career pathways certificates. Conduct and interpret assessment scores to determine students' educational and personal needs. Track student progress and trigger targeted and necessary interventions. Assist students in creating educational plans to identify career pathways goals and required resources. Collaborate with agency partners, business and industry for internships and job placements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Administrative. Performs administrative duties to enhance the effective operation of the Career Pathways Program. Under the guidance of the Adult Education Director, develops effective presentations and activities to provide and facilitate career pathways objectives, goals, and desire to build partnerships in the local community.Communicates long and short-term educational, technological, instructional, and budgetary needs to the Adult Education Director. Assists Adult Education Director with forecasting for Career Pathways program budgetary needs and potential grant proposals.Establishes a systematic method for maintaining data and analysis of instructional objectives, goals and outcomes. Provides weekly and/or monthly statistical progress of each Career Pathways initiative to Adult Education Director.Plans and coordinates career pathways campus events such as informational workshops, college visitations and tours, business and industry visits.Maintain a database of current students seeking jobs and will notify students of new job openingsDesign, create and maintain Career Pathways website.Travel to various industry meetings within the local community.Update and maintain WCC's Career Pathways maps and roadmaps.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Career Technical Instruction andCurriculum. Collaborates with Continuing Education, local Career Technical Instructors, and business/industry sectors to develop a curriculum to ensure the completion of the Career Pathways program and identify jobs for placement opportunities. Initiates and works in collaboration with Career Technical programs to develop new Adult Career Pathways; Provides instructor orientation to give basic foundation of Career Pathways program expectations.Researches potential career and technical curriculum resources to development educational plans to assist with the development of Career Pathways goals for students.Collaborates with agency partners, businesses and industries to obtain internships, apprenticeships, and job placements. Maintains open communication and working relationships with Houston County and area Career Center partners, employers, and related community agencies, concerning present and future curriculum needs.Establishes relationships with college faculty and the continuing education department to provide long-term and ongoing development of "classroom transition" to "job placement" opportunities. Track statistics, gather data, and write reports specific to guidelines provided for MSSC grant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Evaluation and Professional Development. Evaluates individual Career Pathways initiatives by analyzing data, observing teaching methods and tools, and providing student surveys and feedback. Travels to each Adult Education site to provide instructional support, develop relationships with students, and provide information regarding pathway programs Reviews data with instructor; discusses positive areas and challenging areas for performance improvement.Assists with GED graduation and encourage graduates to attend.Works closely with Workforce Development, Adult Education Career Coach, and local businesses and industries to determine training needs.Recommends, develops and facilitates required staff and professional development activities.Makes available at the end of each semester surveys for students, staff, and local partners to analyze data and forecast needs for each semester.Participate in all Professional Development opportunities as required by the Director.Perform other related duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: College Expectations.
