The City of Sealy is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Administrative Assistant I-III (Customer Service.) Under the general supervision of the Administrative Services Manager and Director of Finance, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks, provides directory and assistance for all visitors, answers telephones, emails, and general customer service inquiries. Maintains and updates databases, records, and files. This position is highly visible to the public and must be able to use effective problem-solving skills, especially during conflictive situations. This position is responsible for establishing utility accounts, accepting payments, and assisting customers with utility and City-related questions. Additional responsibilities include cash-handling, balancing daily deposits, and assisting management with special projects. Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED equivalent, two (2) years of customer service experience, three (3) years of responsible accounting experience, including accounting, financial or statistical record keeping, cashiering, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of public agency finance, accounting functions including utilities, and Incode software, is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license and have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and MVR check. Hourly pay range: $18.00 to $19.20.
