Our Kansas City, Missouri distribution center is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement of goods, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and safely. Your primary responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trailers, move materials within the warehouse, and assist with inventory placement and retrieval. We require individuals who are highly safety-conscious, possess excellent operational skills, and are committed to maintaining a secure work environment. Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks) to move, stack, and organize inventory.
- Load and unload freight from trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse as directed.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, picking, and packing processes as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Support overall warehouse efficiency and meet productivity goals.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Must be capable of lifting items up to 50 pounds when required.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control principles.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting .
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
