Our busy distribution center is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and stacking materials within our warehouse. Your proficiency with forklifts will be essential to maintaining the efficient flow of goods and ensuring timely order fulfillment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic logistics environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a commitment to maintaining equipment in good working order. We prioritize the safety of our employees above all else, and strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets and materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas of the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of the forklift equipment before operation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Assist with put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear aisles and docks.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Ensure all lifting and moving of goods is done safely and without damage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
