Seeking a reliable Material Handler for our Des Moines, Iowa distribution center. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, involving the movement of materials throughout the warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials, components, and finished goods. This includes operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Proper handling and organization of materials are key to maintaining workflow and preventing damage. Safety is our utmost concern, and all employees are required to follow strict safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are available when and where they are needed within the facility. This position requires physical strength for manual Lifting and the ability to work in a dynamic, sometimes demanding, environment. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly workspace are essential. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload trucks as required.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Support production and shipping departments by ensuring timely material availability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (preferred).
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, typically up to 60 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Mechanical aptitude for operating various equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
