We have an immediate opening for a Forklift Operator in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a key position within our logistics department, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods within our facility. You will be operating various types of forklifts to move, stock, and retrieve inventory, playing an integral part in our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
- Safely transport goods from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and report any safety hazards.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock taking.
- Work closely with other warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with previous experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling.
- Ability to lift items up to 40 pounds.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
