We are hiring a Material Handler for our Omaha, Nebraska facility! This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating machinery to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will ensure materials are properly stored and transported to facilitate smooth logistics operations. This role requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and accuracy. You will work closely with inventory control and operations teams to maintain optimal workflow. A strong understanding of warehouse equipment and safety protocols is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging supplies to and from designated areas.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations within the warehouse.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accurate placement of materials.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Support logistics team with material staging and movement as needed.
- Follow all guidelines related to safe material handling and storage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and safety regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safe practices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
