Are you detail-oriented and organized? Join our growing logistics center in Madison, Wisconsin, as a Shipping Clerk. This role is vital for ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed correctly and efficiently, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, managing documentation, and coordinating with carriers in a dynamic warehouse setting.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately generate shipping labels and prepare all necessary documentation for outgoing orders.
- Verify that items picked match order details and are packaged appropriately for transit.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Utilize shipping software and equipment to manage and track shipments.
- Conduct quality checks on packages to ensure they are ready for dispatch and report any damages.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized shipping logs and records.
- Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve shipping-related inquiries.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Provide support for other logistics tasks, which may include moderate Lifting.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our distribution operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics support role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS platforms) and general computer applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with carriers and internal staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety standards.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following safety guidelines.
- Capacity for occasional Lifting of items up to 35 lbs.
