Our Detroit, Michigan facility is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to enhance our warehouse operations. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing preventative measures. You will collaborate with various departments to maintain optimal stock levels and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within our inventory management systems. This position requires a keen analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics. A commitment to safety, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices, is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
  • Identify and investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies.
  • Implement corrective actions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist in optimizing warehouse layout for efficient inventory storage.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with WMS and other inventory software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and use of PPE.
