We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is crucial for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and effectively to transport, stack, load, and unload goods. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to safety, and previous experience in a warehouse environment. You will work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure that all material handling tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. We prioritize a safe working environment, and all operators must adhere to strict safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and performing pre-operation checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of forklifts.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
- Accurately record movement of goods.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Knowledge of safe material handling techniques and lifting practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to perform pre-operation checks on equipment.
- Experience working with and around other warehouse staff.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with the importance of PPE in a warehouse setting.
