Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage our inventory systems in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, performing regular audits, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing effective inventory control strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics.   • Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, storing, and shipping.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce losses.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Ensure proper organization and placement of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, adhering to all Safety guidelines.
  • Wear and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all company policies, including those related to Lifting and safe material handling.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, turnover, and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices. Proficiency in WMS and inventory software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures. Experience in logistics is highly desirable.
