We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics hub in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory management procedures, conducting regular audits, and resolving discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our supply chain efficiency and play a key role in our logistics operations.Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, reconciling variances.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Monitor stock levels and manage reorder points to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all inventory items.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with procurement and operations teams to manage inventory flow.
- Implement and enforce Safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the training of warehouse staff on inventory procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory movements and adjustments.
- Adhere to all company policies, including those related to Lifting and safe material handling.
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role. Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Understanding of logistics operations. Commitment to Safety and accuracy.
