Salary Range: $37,440 - $41,600

Summary

The function of the Shipping / Receiving Associate is to process parts through the organization and coordinate transportation to the customer facilities worldwide. Workers in this area handle a variety of materials, products and specifications within Quality, Shipping, Finished Goods and Regulatory Compliance as well as receiving incoming products and perform a variety of inspection tasks related to product assurance. Parts and materials may be expensive, fragile, or hazardous in some cases. Shipping / Receiving Associates are critical to the supply chain process and continuing support of the organization. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pull, count, photograph, pack and ship Finished Goods.
  • Ensure all shipping transactions are recorded into ERP.
  • Audit all outbound shipments.
  • Workers may use material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to bring products and materials to an appropriate location.
  • Perform inspection of incoming products and materials to ensure compliance with the purchase order, specifications and/or engineering drawings.
  • Ensure all receiving transactions are recorded into proper record system.
  • Documents work using appropriate forms and records. Maintains all Receiving Inspection records in good order and archives appropriate documents electronically using company records system

Sales and Production Support

  • Track changes of Sales Orders as Production Orders are changed through the program cycle through delivery of the project shipset.
  • Maintain communication lines with Planning, Engineering, Sales & Program Management on changes made to the orders and delivery anomalies as applicable.
  • Maintain communication lines with Inventory on consistency of data between the ERP and sales order anomalies as applicable.
  • Maintain departmental KPI's including anomalies raised and track resolutions as applicable. Driving resolution and assisting the affected departments in corrections.

Material & Transportation Requirements Review

  • Analyze the material requirements as the weights and dimensions are made available.
  • Categorize the material requirements for opportunities to consolidate shipments and purchase orders to single or fewer logistics companies for more efficient and cost-effective purchase options.
  • Provide the shipping requirements in conjunction with regulatory information to Warehouse Manager to initiate discussion (Review Meeting) with Sales / Planning to review Ship / Hold decision when regulations may be in question.
  • Track the miss-delivery issues and conduct RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) plans
  • Obtain POD when required and distribute to Sales & Program Management
  • Continually Investigate cost saving initiatives.
  • Obtain CFR49 / IATA certificate for global hazardous material shipments.

HazMat certification must be obtained within time period determined by Warehouse Manager after initial training is completed.

Education and/or Experience

Three years of progressive experience with Microsoft Office.

Prior knowledge/experience using ERP systems.

Understanding of packaging for protection / ATA300 regulations.

Ability to understand engineering drawings and interpret regulations.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills are necessary for the position.

Reasoning Ability

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills

Intermediate computer skills are necessary for the position. Knowledge of the ERP flow down used in an organization is helpful, but workers may learn on the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day. Occasional requirements to assist with lifting large parts in wrapping/packaging process.
