Position Overview
Four Inc. is seeking an Associate Solutions Architect Intern to support technical and operational initiatives across the organization. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to solution architecture, cloud and infrastructure concepts, and customer-focused technical work.
This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with three in-office days per week at Four Inc.'s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, and two remote workdays.
Essential Functions
- Participate in a structured training and mentorship program to develop foundational knowledge in cloud, infrastructure, and solution architecture
- Learn how to evaluate customer or internal technical requirements and assist in shaping appropriate solution approaches
- Provide support during solution design discussions and customer-facing engagements
- Contribute to a hands-on technical project, applying architectural concepts and industry best practices
- Develop written and verbal communication skills by presenting technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript)
- Foundational knowledge of IT systems, software development, or infrastructure and architecture concepts
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-moving environment
- Exposure to networking, security, storage, databases, or operating systems through coursework, labs, internships, or personal projects
- Experience with technical projects, internships, or lab environments is a plus
Physical Requirements:
The work is generally sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting; however, some travel to government or partner sites may be required. The position may require:
- Visual acuity to view computer screens, read technical documents, and perform data analysis and data entry
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment, boxes, or documents (typically under 40 lbs)
- Ability to hear and speak clearly in virtual and in-person meetings
