Founded in 1987 at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, Texcell's journey began with a laboratory team dedicated to addressing the HIV crisis. Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to service and expand our viral clearance, custom cell culture, and viral safety testing services across the Mid-Atlantic/Midwest. This role focuses on building client relationships, generating new business, and driving regional revenue growth. Responsibilities include building and nurturing strong sponsor relationships, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and collaborating with internal teams to scope projects and ensure the delivery of high-quality client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business plan for territory to achieve or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Manage portfolio of existing accounts; strengthen relationships, expand target areas, and ensure retention.
  • Identify, qualify, and win new business within target segments
  • Lead full-cycle sales activities: prospecting, discovery, technical positioning, solution scoping with internal team, quote generation, negotiation, and close.
  • Secure new business and expansion deals while administering MSAs, work orders, and renewals in collaboration with Commercial Operations and other business partners.
  • Ensure smooth project hand-off to Operations post-sale; monitor client satisfaction and assist with issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate CRM hygiene (e.g., customer interactions, sales activities, opportunity pipeline) and deliver reliable forecasts.
  • Represent company at regional conferences, webinars, and industry events; capture voice-of-customer, competitive intelligence, and market trends for internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to thought leadership (e.g., case studies, white papers, conference abstracts) as required.
  • Travel within

territory range from 25% to 50%, depending on business needs and regional events.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field and 3–5 years of relevant life sciences sales experience (CRO/CDMO/scientific services); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated success managing complex, technical sales cycles—from prospecting through close and post-sale growth.
  • Proficiency with CRM (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple concurrent opportunities.
  • Familiarity with biologics development, viral safety concepts, GMP testing services and related regulatory expectations.

Working Conditions

  • Remote/home office.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and travel by air/vehicle within assigned territory.
