At Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando FL We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining chillers, boilers, rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, and HVAC control systems in a commercial setting. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with facility managers and maintenance teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, rooftop units (RTUs), variable air volume (VAV) systems, and heat pumps.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC control systems, including Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure efficient operation and energy optimization.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Identify and resolve system inefficiencies, leaks, electrical faults, and mechanical failures in commercial HVAC units.
- Conduct air balancing, ductwork inspections, and airflow optimization for climate control efficiency.
- Install and maintain electrical components, control panels, sensors, and thermostats associated with HVAC operations.
- Work collaboratively with facility managers and maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades across multiple sites.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or maintenance staff.
AHNTECH maintains full responsibility for the operation and upkeep of all assigned facilities under this contract. Employees may be required to perform duties outside their primary trade or job title based on facility maintenance workload demands. While each position has a designated specialty, all team members are expected to assist across multiple disciplines—including general maintenance, grounds, custodial support, or other facility-related tasks—as directed by the Project Manager. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to ensure the continuous and effective operation of all base facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 2+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of chillers, boilers, RTUs, air handlers, and HVAC control systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical components, motors, and control circuits.
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC energy management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (Required).
- HVAC Technician Certification (NATE Certification preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel between multiple facilities as needed.
- Must pass a thorough background check.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
