The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This role ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests by delivering service in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and professional manner, while also managing expenses and maintaining high service standards.
This position reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper.

Key Responsibilities
- Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline Housekeeping associates in accordance with the Opal Sol Associate Handbook
- Ensure Four-Diamond cleanliness standards are consistently met in guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Establish and maintain scheduled cleaning programs (floor care, deep cleaning, mattress rotation, etc.) with detailed checklists for each position
- Maintain and control all housekeeping equipment
- Conduct monthly guest supply and cleaning supply inventories
- Efficiently manage large guestroom turns, including group arrivals and departures
- Ensure consistency with departmental opening and closing procedures
- Foster employee morale and ensure proper onboarding and ongoing training
- Inspect guest rooms daily, including joint inspections with supervisors
- Inspect all VIP rooms prior to arrival
- Maintain required par levels for housekeeping supplies and amenities
- Conduct timely monthly and quarterly housekeeping inventories
- Ensure guest privacy and security by following all resort procedures
- Monitor, submit, and follow up on maintenance work orders
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings for room attendants and housepersons
- Balance and clear room status nightly; resolve discrepancies between housekeeping reports and PMS room status
- Review, approve and submit payroll hours accurately and on time
- Prepare employee schedules based on business forecasts, productivity standards, and payroll guidelines
- Follow SOPs for purchase orders, invoices, and checkbook accounting
- Maintain open and professional communication with all departments
- Ensure completion and sign-off of Service Standards by Position competencies
- Carry and properly use communication devices at all times
- Monitor out-of-order, out-of-service, discrepant, and show rooms daily
- Maintain constant communication with the Front Office regarding room status and special requests
- Manage and monitor special guest requests (VIPs, connecting rooms, accessibility needs, etc.)
- Oversee Lost and Found procedures in accordance with resort standards
- Establish and maintain a secure key control system
- Review Housekeeping and Guest Request logs daily
Qualifications
- Strong computer proficiency and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail with proven leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively interact with department leaders, guests, and associates
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Two years of hotel housekeeping leadership experience preferred
