The Role
Lindell Engineeing has an excellent opportunity for a motivated licensed or licensed-tracked electrical engineer with 8+ years of experience. This position is responsible for designing and creating electrical construction documents form project bid to project completion. Utilize BIM principles and Revit techniques to leverage model formation, improve spatial coordination, and increase modeling efficiency. Seniors urged to apply, full- or part-time.
Responsibilities
- Work with architects, contractors, and owner to provide engineering quotes, define scope of engineering, and manage project expectations and project schedule.
- Lead projects from bid to finish.
- Perform power, power distribution, and lighting design with minimal to no assistance.
- Write and maintain project specifications.
- Coordinate with other trades such as mechanical. (This may be in-house or with other firms.)
- Attend design-related meetings with clients to present and define project needs.
- Provide project status and respond to requests or concerns - both verbally and in writing.
- Provide estimated construction costing.
- Perform electrical power and lighting photometric calculations such as short circuit, voltage drop, arc flash, energy code studies, and load calculations.
- Review drawings and research codes to verify compliance with city, state, and county regulations.
- Review submittals to ensure with project scope.
- Perform site visits, field observations, and reports to ensure project scope is being met.
- Field take-off of existing electrical systems.
- Guide, teach, train and mentor junior teammates.
- Project documents created in Revit.
- Maintain/create Revit families, schedules, view templates, view filters, annotation tags and master files.
- 3D modeling; accurately place families in 3D model.
- 3D coordination; identify and resolve spatial conflicts within Revit and or Navisworks.
- Manage multiple projects at one time.
- Maintain/manage daily on and off-site backup of current project files and maintain archive files.
- Maintain/manage Autodesk seat licensing.
- Maintain/manage email user accounts.
- Maintain/manage printer/plotter.
- Maintain/manage computer network with help from outside IT service provider.
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited school in electrical engineering.
- Currently licensed or licensed-tracked.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical design, performing calculations for power distribution systems, lighting, and special systems for commercial, industrial, retail, multi-family, assisted/memory care, and mixed-use construction projects.
- Advance knowledge of Revit. Minimum 4 years of experience.
- Advance knowledge of SKM Power Tools. Minimum 4 years of experience.
- Advance knowledge of Navisworks. Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Advanced knowledge of energy code lighting density and control requirements. Minimum 4 years of experience.
- Proficient use of ComCheck creating compliance reports for submittal.
- Familiar with Autodesk Construction Cloud Management/BIM 360.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to perform lighting calculations using software such as Visual or AGI.
- Working knowledge of codes such as NEC, IBC, IFC, and the Energy Code.
- Experience with MHFA, USDA housing type of programs.
- Experience with plan/spec and design build projects.
- Working knowledge of office programs such as MS Word and Excel.
- Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently and as a member of a group.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours, Schedule: Monday through Friday, Work Location: In office (80%-90%), job sites/meetings (10%-20%)

Pay: $115, $160,000.00 per year
