Job Purpose:

  • The Laundry Aide at Kalesta Healthcare Group is responsible for ensuring that all laundry operations are conducted efficiently and effectively to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. The role is crucial in supporting the overall patient care experience by providing fresh linens and garments for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and garments according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring all machines are in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep accurate records of laundry inventory, usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspaces.
  • Respond promptly to special requests for laundry services from patients or staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated with industry standards.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality laundry setting is preferred.
  • Experience with industrial laundry equipment is an advantage.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
  • Good organizational skills to manage laundry workflow effectively.
  • Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
